چکیده

Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) has been popular in elemental analysis for various kinds of samples due to its rapid and in-situ measurement using simple equipment. However, quantitative analysis by LIBS is still inferior to conventional element analysis methods in sensitivity and accuracy. In this paper improvement in LIBS is attempted applying computational processing to low-resolution spectra.

Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) as a rapid tool for material analysis

Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is a novel technique for elemental analysis based on laser-generated plasma. In this technique, laser pulses are applied for ablation of the sample, resulting in the vaporization and ionization of sample in hot plasma which is finally analyzed by the spectrometer. The elements are identified by their unique spectral signatures. LIBS system was develop...

The effect of self-absorption correction using internal reference on determining heavy metals concentration by laser induced breakdown spectroscopy

The identification and concentration of heavy metals, which may be so harmful for the body, is determined by the method of calibration-free laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy using a special strategy. First, the plasma temperature is obtained using the Boltzmann plot. Then, a line with an inappreciable self-absorption is considered for each element as the reference. The modified intensities o...

Optimization of Plasma Parameters for Preliminary Analysis of Chromium Containing Tablet by Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy

Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy was used for preliminary elemental analysis of chromium containing tablet. Plasma was generated by 532 nm Qswitched Nd:YAG laser. To collect the plasma emission, lens in the body tube was used. This lens focused emission in the optical fiber linked with the entrance slit of an Echelle spectrometer. The emission beam was recorded with an intensified charge-co...
